Description Programmes with notes for four performances given by the Handel Opera Society at various British venues between 1957-85, conducted by Charles Farncombe.

19 and 20 March 1957, St. Pancras Assembly Rooms: Alcina, given by Monica Sinclair, John Noble, Emerentia Scheepers, Joan Sutherland, Miles Amherst, John Carvalho and John Kentish (vocal) with the Boyd Neel Orchestra and Chandos Chorus. Held with this programme is a press cutting relating to the performance.

6 June 1975, Royal Festival Hall: 20th Anniversary Concert, given by Janet Baker, Elizabeth Harwood and Richard Lewis (vocal), the Handel Opera Society Chorus and English Chamber Orchestra, with Sir Anthony Lewis (additional conductor).

14-18 June 1977, Holland Park Court Theatre: Acis and Galatea, with with the Handel Opera Chamber Ensemble and Handel Opera Society Chorus.

5 October 1985, St. David's Hall, Cardiff: An Evening with Mr Handel given by Elizabeth Vaughan and Ryland Davies (vocal), Robert Aldwinckle (organ/harpschord) and William Houghton (trumpet). This document includes a biographical notes (with photographs) on the principal performers and a list of the orchestral ensemble.

Collections Overview The Gerald Coke Handel Collection is an internationally important collection of material relating to Handel and his contemporaries, including manuscripts, printed books and music, libretti, paintings and engravings, memorabilia, art works and ephemera. The Handel collection is open for research Wednesday-Friday, and the display room (with access to recorded music) is open with the rest of the museum Tuesday-Sunday 10-6.
