Description Programme (with words) for the first Halifax Subscription Concert, given on 29 November 1827 at the New Assembly Rooms, Halifax.

This was a two-part concert consisting primarily of English and Italian vocal music, including the first performances of an unattributed Scottish Ballad. Also, orchestral overtures/symphonies at the beginning of each act and two solo pieces for flute.

The programme provides only the names of the vocal and instrumental soloists: Mr Archer, Mr Walton, Miss Farrar and Madame Cornega (vocal), Mr Nicholson (flute) and Mr Crouch (cello).

Bound with this programme (tract 9.) is a document entitled 'Lines on the Grand Musical Festival at York, September 1825'. This is a three-part poem by John Nicholson, with sections entitled The Oratorio, The Concert, and The Ball.
