Description
Souvenir programme for a concert given to the mark the Opening of the New Organ in the Concert Room of the Guildhall School of Music, London, on 26 February 1907.
This was a concert of vocal and instrumental solos, given by Miss Ethel May Barwell-Holbrook and Miss Edith Romea (vocal), Miss Doris Cloud (violin) and Dr Warwick Jordan (organ), accompanied by Mr M. Gordon Burgess. The organ was built by Messrs Norman and Beard, Ltd and opened by Sir William Purdie Treloar, Lord Mayor.
The programme includes a list of the Music Committee of the Guildhall (chaired by Paul Alliston with William H. Cummings as Principal), a technical description of the instrument (including a list of specifications) and a number of photographs and diagrams of both the console and the pipes.
