Description
Handbill announcement of a Request Recital by the Sinhalese Singer Surya Sena, to be given with the assistance of Nelun Devi on 15 December 1932 at the Grotrian Hall, Wigmore Street, London.
No full programme is listed, but it is claimed that this will include 'Indian, Nepalese, Tibetan Folk-Songs, Descriptive Songs, Boatmen’s Songs, Harvesting Songs of Ceylon, Recitations from Tagore, Indian Instrumental Items and Negro Spirituals and Folk Songs from Cyprus and Roumania'.
The document carries photographs of both performers and provides examples of press criticism relating to a recital given by them on 2 November [1932].
