Description
The programme and wordbook for a Grand Performance of Vocal and Instrumental Music, with Recitations, given on 26 June 1817 at the King’s Concert Room, [Hanover Square], London.
This was a two-part performance, including recitations given by Monsieur Talma and Mademoiselle Georges from the Tragedies of Racine, La Harpe and Corneille.
Also, orchestral pieces (at the start each act) and vocal music given by Madame and Signor Pasta (the latter making his first appearance in this country), Madame Fodor and Signors Crivelli and Vercellino.
The performance was led by Mr Weichsel with Mr Liverati (piano).
