Description
A miscellaneous collection of handbills and programme books for four symphony concerts and a number of operatic performances, given at various venues in Dresden between 1900 and 1990, held loosely within a box of programmes for German venues A-Z.
The collection also includes leaflet prospectuses for the Dresdner Musikfestspiele of 19 May–4 June 1979, 23 May–8 June 1981 and 23 May–8 June 1992 and a Brochure for the event of 1978.
1. Symphony Concerts
13 March 1900, 10 October 1902 and 20 March 1910: Königl. Musikalischen Kapelle.
2 November 1934: Sächsische Staatstheater.
2. Operatic productions
9, 12, 13, 14 and 17 April 1910 and 17, 19 and 20 September 1913: Königliche Hof-Theater/Königlisches Opernhaus.
21, 22, 23, 25 and 26 May 1925, 7 and 8 April 1935 and 23 September 1974: Sächsische Staatstheater Opernhaus.
12 and 13 June 1990: Staatsoper.
With the exceptions of the handbills for the Königlisches Opernhaus productions of 1910, all items consist of programme books. Those for the symphony concerts include words and historical and analytical notes, with musical examples. Those for the items after 1974 also carry historical and descriptive notes.
