Description
A miscellaneous collection of loose handbills, programmes and programme books for concert and operatic performances given at various Berlin venues - principally theatres - between 1922 and 1962, arranged by venue and held as four folders, all of which are included in a single box. Also, a selection of leaflets and prospectuses for festivals and other events given at multiple venues in Berlin between 1913 and 1984, held in a further folder within the same box.
With the exception of those for September and October 1928, programmes for the operatic performances – contained principally in folders 1 and 3 – typically include programme notes, a plot synopsis and photographs.
Folder 1: Staats-Theater (1922-30)
A collection of programmes for operatic performances given under the auspices of the Staats-Theater Berlin at the following venues in Berlin:
Staats-Oper am Platz der Republik: 3 and 4 April 1927, 6 and 15 September, 11 October and 27 December 1928, 1 and 2 January 1929 and 20, 24 April 1930.
Staats-Oper Unter den Linden: 16 April 1922, 12 April 1924, 12, 14, 16, 21, 23 and 26 September, 10, 13 and 19 October and 23 December 1928, 30 March 1929, 2 and 3 January and 29 December 1930, 2 and 4 January 1931 and 6, 10, 11, 12 April 1935
In addition to these programmes, the folder includes programmes for performances at the Deutsches Opernhaus (21 April 1935 and 30 May/2/4/5 April 1937) and the Schausspielhaus (8 April 1927) and copies of the Blatter des Staatsoper und der Stadtischen Oper (September and October 1928) and the Magazin Grosses Schauspielhaus (1930-31).
Folder 2: Konzertsaal des Städtischen Konservatoriums (1962)

Folder 4: Theater am Nollendorf-Platz/Theater des Westens (1922-23 and 1950)
Theater am Nollendorfplats: handbills for 15 April 1922 and 31 March 1923 plus one undated wordbook (Hans S. Linné, Die Schöne Rivalin) and one undated set of programme notes (Strauss, Die Fledermaus).
