Description The programme (with notes) for a Gala Concert in aid of the Thomas Coram Foundation for Children, given on 19 April 1999 at St. John's Smith Square, London.

This performance was given to make the 250th Anniversary of Handel's First Concert for the Foundling Hospital and the 25th Anniversary of the Academy of Ancient Music. It featured the choir of New College Oxford, with Emma Kirkby, James Bowman, Anthony Rolfe Johnson and Peter Harvey, directed by Christopher Hogwood, Andrew Manze and Paul Goodwin.

The programme includes biographical notes, photographs and a list of the members of the Academy of Ancient Music.

Collections Overview The Gerald Coke Handel Collection is an internationally important collection of material relating to Handel and his contemporaries, including manuscripts, printed books and music, libretti, paintings and engravings, memorabilia, art works and ephemera. The Handel collection is open for research Wednesday-Friday, and the display room (with access to recorded music) is open with the rest of the museum Tuesday-Sunday 10-6.
