Description One of five boxes of material within the F. Gilbert Webb collection relating to the Royal Philharmonic Society, containing a miscellaneous collection of loose programme books for concerts given at the Queen's Hall, London between 1909 and 1916 (seasons 97-100 and 103-105).

All programmes include Historical and Analytical notes (with musical examples) and provide lists of the orchestral ensemble. Where appropriate, they also include the texts for any vocal pieces included. All programmes also provide detailed information regarding the organization of the Society, including lists of the various Officers, Members and Guarantors.

Certain programmes carry handwritten annotations, many of which offer analytical observations on the performance or on the works performed.

Unless otherwise stated below, all concerts from the 103rd season onwards were conducted by Thomas Beecham.

1908-09 (nos. 4-7)
2 February: Mendelssohn programme, with Raoul Pugno (piano), conducted by Camille Chevillard (with additional historical material regarding Mendelssohn and his relationship with the Philharmonic Society).
18 February: Godowsky (piano), conducted by Luigi Mancinelli, including the first performance of Arthur Hervey, Tone-Poem, Summer (conducted by the composer) and the first London performance of Goldmark, Prelude to Act 2 of Königin von Saba.
3 March: Emil Sauer (piano), conducted by Bruno Walter, including the first performance of Ethel M. Smyth, Overture, The Wreckers.
13 May: John Coates (vocal), conducted by Arthur Nikisch.

11 November: Kirkby Lunn (vocal) and Basil Sapellnikoff (piano), conducted by Edward Elgar.
25 November: Alice Verlet (vocal) and Harold Bauer (piano), conduced by Bruno Walter.
8 December: Kathleen Parlow (violin) and Frederic Austin (vocal), conducted by Bruno Walter.
10 February: Emil Sauer (piano) and Edmund Burke (vocal), conducted by Landon Ronald.

9 February: Moriz Rosenthal (piano) and Maggie Teyte (vocal), conducted by Dr Chessin.
23 February: Mignon Nevada (vocal) and Alfred Cortot (piano), conducted by Albert Coates.
9 March: Ruth Vincent (vocal) and Raoul Pugno (piano), conducted by Safonoff.
18 May: Katharine Goodson (piano) and Lionel Tertis (viola), conducted by Nikisch.

1911-12 season (nos. 1-3)
7 November: Rachmaninoff (piano), conducted by Mengelberg, including the first London performance of Rachmaninoff, Piano Concerto No. 3.
23 November: Robert Radford (vocal) and Sigmund Feuermann (violin), conducted by Charles V. Stanford.
5 December: Lillian Blauvelt (vocal) and Fanny Davies (piano), conducted by Safonoff.

1914-15 season (no. 7)
13 April: Marie Anne Weber-Delacre and Miss Dilys Jones (vocal).
