Description A collection of programme books for the Grand Annual Concerts given by the Edgbaston Amateur Musical Union at the Masonic Hall, Birmingham on 9 March 1881 and 29 March 1882 and in the Large Lecture Theatre of the Birmingham and Midland Institute on 6 February 1884 and 22 April 1885, arranged in a largely chronological fashion within a bound volume.

These were two-part concerts of vocal and orchestral music, with some instrumental solos, conducted by Mr C.J. Duchemin (1881-82) and Mr Alfred J. Sutton (1884-85), given with the following soloists:
9 March 1881: Miss Young and Mr W. Lee Mathews (vocal).
29 March 1882: Miss Eleanor Burnett and Mr W. Lee Mathews (vocal) with Miss Kate Round (piano).
6 February 1884: Mrs Alfred J. Sutton (vocal), Miss Edith Young (piano) and Mr Walter Liston (violin).
22 April 1885: Mrs A.J. Sutton (vocal) and Mr Walter Macfarren (piano).

All programmes include words, historical and descriptive notes on the orchestral works (by Andrew Deakin) and a list of the orchestral ensemble.
