Description Handbill for a Grand Selection of Sacred Music and a Miscellaneous Concert, given on 3 August 1836 in aid of the East Suffolk and Ipswich Hospital.

The Grand Selection was a three-part performance including music from Handel, The Messiah and Haydn, The Creation, given in St. Mary Tower Church, Ipswich. The Miscellaneous Concert was a two-part performance of vocal and instrumental solos, with an orchestral overture at the start of each act, given in the evening at the Theatre, Ipswich.

The handbill provides a list of the Patrons for the event and cites the following performers: Miss Rainforth, Mr Bennett and Mr Seguin (from the Ancient and Nobilities' Concerts, London, vocal), Mr Mackintosh (principal second violin), Mr Lucas (cello), Mr Ricks (clarionet) and Mr Millard and Mr Howlett (trombone).

The remainder of the band was 'composed of Members of the Ipswich, Norwich, Colchester, Bury and Woodbridge Musical and Choral Societies', led by Mr Seymour and Mr Bianchi and conducted by Mr R. Foster.
