Description
A miscellaneous collection of programmes for performances given at a range of London venues and at various English provincial venues between 1928 and 1972, held loosely as the second of three boxes of programmes within the collection of the English composer and conductor Charles Proctor (1906–96). Also, a programme for a Klavierabend given by George Mulfinger at the Mittlerer Konzerhaus-Saal, Vienna on 16 September 1926.
In addition to the concert programmes (listed below), this box contains copies of London Musical Events for March, April and May 1947 and the Official Souvenir Programme for the London Season of the Arts/Festival of Britain in 1951. There is also a range of printed material relating to the Alexandra Choir (founded and conducted by Proctor), including multiple copies of a Souvenir of the Alexandra Choir and a prospectus for the 33rd season, 1972–73
Programmes are listed here by venue, with the London programmes followed by those for English provincial venues. In addition to the items listed below, the collection includes a handbill for an Allied Occasion, broadcast on 1 September [no year].
