Description A programme and wordbook for the last of Charles Hallé's Orchestral Concerts 1878-79, given on 4 March 1879 at the Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool.

This was a two-part concert of vocal, instrumental and orchestral repertory, much of it by nineteenth-century German composers, including first performances of Wagner's own arrangement of Selections from the Opera of ?Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg' and Mozart, Piano Concerto No.13 in D (Charles Hallé, piano).

The programme contains detailed historical and analytical notes (with musical examples) and provides a list of the orchestral ensemble. It also cites the following vocal and instrumental soloists: Madame Norman-Neruda (violin), Herr Straus (viola), Herr Franz Neruda (cello), Herr Grosse (clarinet), M. Lalande (bassoon), M. Vanhaute (horn), Herr Neuwirth (double bass) and Herr Henschel (vocal).
