Description
The programme and wordbook for a Grand Selection of Sacred Music, given during the morning and evening services on 16 July 1829, to mark the opening of the Catholic Chapel on Sansom Row, Worcester.
The morning service consisted of a mass setting by Haydn, with the Benedictus from Mozart, Requiem. The evening service was shorter and included solo and choral pieces by Handel, Haydn, M.P. King, Perez and Leo.
The services were given by the vocalists Miss Heaton, Miss M.A. Fletcher, Mr Machin, Mr Kenworthy, Mr Bratt, Mr Greaves, Mr Simmons and Mr Hollins, led by Mr D'Egville and conducted from the keyboard by Mr W.H. Sharman.
