Description
A collection of handbills and programmes for recitals and concerts give at various venues in Cambridge between 1875 and 1878, arranged chronologically in a bound volume. Also, programmes for dramatic performances given at the ADC Theatre, Cambridge between 1876 and 1878.

1. Trinity College Chapel Organ Recitals (handbills)
3 and 10 May 1876: Mr C. Villiers Stanford/Mr F. Dewberry.
18, 20 and 22 May 1876: Mr Alan Gray/Mr C. Villiers Stanford/Mr G.F. Cobb.
27 May 1876: C.V. Stanford.
1 June 1876: C.V. Stanford.
16, 19 and 21 May 1877: Dr J. Bridge/C.V. Stanford/Mr G.F. Cobb.
2. Gonville and Caius College Music Society
A collection of programmes for concerts accompanied by Mr F. Dewberry and conducted by G.M. Garrett. All programmes include a list of the Music Society committee.
29 May 1876: a two-part concert of solo and ensemble vocal music with one instrumental solo item per part.
23 May 1877: a two-part concert, the second act of which comprised a cantata by Fox entitled The Jackdaw of Rheims.
23 May 1878: Dr Rimbault, A County Life (cantata), with F.W. Morley (harmonium) (with wordbook).
3. Miscellaneous Concerts.
A miscellaneous collection of programmes for four performances given between 1875 and 1878 at the New Corn Exchange (1875) and the Guildhall, Cambridge (1876-78). With the exception of that 1878, these were two-part vocal concerts with an instrumental solo at the start of each act.
8 November 1875: Grand Promenade Concert, with Madame Clara Suter and Mr Maybrick (vocal), the Chorus of Cambridge Musical Society, the Band of the Coldstream Guard and the band of the Cambridge Musical Society, led by Mr C. Sippel, accompanied by Mr F. Dewberry and conducted by Messrs. Fred Godfrey and H.J. Brown.
10 May 1876: Grand Concert, given by Miss Robertson, Mrs Irene Ware, Miss Fanny Robertson, Mr W. Shakespeare and Mr Wadmore (vocal) and C.V. Stanford (piano), conducted by Signor Alberto Randegger (with incomplete sketches of people on its reverse).
2 February 1877: Messrs W. and J. Ling’s Concert, given by Miss Robertson (soprano), Miss Fanny Robertson (alto), James Sauvage (tenor) and Henry Pope (bass) and Monsieur Albert (cello), accompanied and conducted by Signor Randegger (with Annoucement).
20 February 1878: G.A. Macfarren, Saint John the Baptist, given by the Cambridge Musical Society with Madame Nouver, Miss Mary Cummings, Mr Hollins and Mr Thurley Beale (vocal) with Mr Tom Silver (organ), led by Mr Sippel and conducted by Mr W.C. Dewberry.
4. A.D.C. Theatre
A collection of programmes for the dramatic performances given at the A.D.C. Theatre, Cambridge between 20 and 23 November 1876, 19 and 23 November 1877 and 11 and 14 November 1878, each item including a list of the works performed and of the performers involved.
