Description A programme for the Third Annual Musical Festival, sponsored by the Brynmawr District Calvinistic Methodist Churches, given on 9 April 1906 in Abertillery, Monmouthshire.

The documentation lists the following performers:
Mr David Jenkins (conductor); Miss Carmel Roberts and Mr Ebenezer Hookley (accompanists); and Mr Daniel Bundred and Mr W. Lloyd (conductors of the adult and children's rehearsals).

The festival consisted of the following gatherings:
Morning Meeting at 10.30am (for children), with Mr D. Munkley (chairman).
Afternoon Meeting at 2.30pm, with Rev. Edwin Burges (chairman).
Evening Meeting at 6.30pm, with Rev. Evan Davies (chairman).

The programmes for each meeting consist of the words and sol-fa notation for hymns and other religious chants and tunes. For the children’s meeting, the majority of these are taken from Sacred Songs and Solos; for the adults, from the English C.M. Tune Book. Each programme also lists an anthem, for which no music is provided.

Bound with this item is a copy of the Festival accounts, dated 8 May 1905.
