Description
A collection of prospectuses and programmes relating to performances given by the BBC and its associated ensembles between 1932 and 1968, held as one bound volume and a collection of loose programmes.
1. Bound volume
Prospectuses and programmes relating to the BBC Chamber Music Concerts, given, unless otherwise stated below, at Broadcasting House, London between 1932 and 1947, bound chronologically. Also, the programme for a performance by the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the Odeon, Bridgewater on 2 March [no year].
The prospectuses cover the third and fourth series of these concerts, given in 1933-34 (12 concerts) and 1934-35 (six concerts). They provide a list of the dates of the performances and a record of the performers to be involved. That for the 1934-35 season also includes full programmes for the first and second concerts (26 October and 16 November 1934).
Those programmes covering only a single performance include brief historical and descriptive notes. Those for which a number of dates are given include only the programmes.
