A volume of programmes and other information on the 1823 Grand Yorkshire Musical Festival held in the City of York, at the Cathedral and the Assembly Rooms. This is a volume which seems to have been prepared after the event, containing details of the preparations and the profits of the festival, and programmes for each of the concerts given on 23, 24, 25, 26/9/1823.

Collections Overview
The Henry Watson Music Library is named after Dr. Henry Watson, a renowned composer and teacher born in nearby Accrington. After his death in 1911 he bequeathed the contents of his private library to the care of Manchester City Council. Watson's original collection (some 16,700 volumes) has been supplemented by many important donations and acquisition since and has grown into one of the largest collections of music in any public library.
