Description Two volumes of programmes for concerts given as part of the Liverpool Musical Festival. The first volume contains the following programmes:

* Music Hall, Liverpool - 16/9/1794 - Grand Miscellaneous Concert
* St. Thomas' Church - 17/9/1794 - A Selection of Sacred Music
* Music Hall, Liverpool - 18/9/1794 - Grand Miscellaneous Concert
* St. Thomas' Church - 19/9/1794 - The Grand Dettingen Te Deum with the Prinicpal Part of the Messiah
* Music Hall, Liverpool - 19/9/1794 - Grand Miscellaneous Concert

The second volume contains the programme for all the concerts of the Liverpool Grand Music Festivals of 1827, 1830, 1833 and 1836. The only venue mentioned is that of the New Amphitheatre, Great Charlotte Street.

Collections Overview The Henry Watson Music Library is named after Dr. Henry Watson, a renowned composer and teacher born in nearby Accrington. After his death in 1911 he bequeathed the contents of his private library to the care of Manchester City Council. Watson's original collection (some 16,700 volumes) has been supplemented by many important donations and acquisition since and has grown into one of the largest collections of music in any public library.
