Description
This collection contains three programmes for concerts given in the Gentlemen's Concert Hall, Manchester. The first programme is for a Special Concert in aid of the Funds of the Cheap Meals Committee, given 3/3/1890. The second programme is for one of the Gentlemen's Concerts, described as a Drawing-Room Concert, given 24/11/1890. The third programme is for another Gentlemen's Concert, described here as a Classical Chamber-Music Concert, given 22/2/1888. This concert had the performers Herr Joachim, Signor Patti and Herr Willibald Richter.

Collections Overview
The Henry Watson Music Library is named after Dr. Henry Watson, a renowned composer and teacher born in nearby Accrington. After his death in 1911 he bequeathed the contents of his private library to the care of Manchester City Council. Watson's original collection (some 16,700 volumes) has been supplemented by many important donations and acquisition since and has grown into one of the largest collections of music in any public library.
