Description
12 folders of ephemera (mostly invitation cards) from the Corinthian Club who hosted dinners to artists, after which the latter performed, in the Aberdeen Hall, Gresham Hotel from 1907 to 1917. Those artists included: Madame Clara Butt, J.F. McCormack, the Moody-Manners Opera Company, Royal Carl Rosa Opera Company, Madam Melba, Italian Grand Opera Company, the O'Mara Opera Company.
Dinner programmes in the collection included:
14/12/09: Luncheon in honour of Lieut. Sir Ernest H. Shackleton. Performers included Geo. Shellard, the Corinthian Quartet, Miss Agnes Treacy, Mr. Alfred Hughes, W.F. Cope, Harry J. Baynton, Miss Lena Munro, J.P. Wrenn, J.R. Morgan, Miss Queenie Eaton, John Horan, J.C. Browner, T.R.G. Joze and T.H. Weaving
29/2/12: Dinner Meeting. Performers includd Rev. W.J. Clarke, Clyde Twelvetrees, Mrs. A.E. Hughes, Miss Nettie Edwards.
2/11/12: Complimentary dinner to Henry Hunt. Performers included Mr. John Weldon, Randal Woodhouse, Campbell Geddes, J.F. Larchet.
23/1/13: Performers included J. O'D. Wade, Miss Lily Meaghar, Miss Aline Ellis, Mr. Fred J. Kennedy, Miss Lily Christie, Rev. W.J. Doherty, Madame Eira Haise, Miss Kathleen Gahan and J. Ostersetzer.
