Description Complete series of festival booklets from the 1st Festival in Great Irish Houses (1978) to the 16th Festival (1985). The locations included Castletown, Carton, Headfort, Slane Castle, Russborough, Tullynally Castle, Castleward, the RDS Concert Hall, Killruddery, the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, the House of Lords College Green, Malahide Castle, Fota House, Clandeboye and Mount Stewart.

The booklets contain programmes for the performances during the festival, historical notes on the houses, biographical notes on the performers and programme notes for each piece. Typewritten word-book for a concert on 20/6/71 at Castletown is also included. The collection also contains press releases and notes by Acton.

Collections Overview The National Library of Ireland has two collections consisting mainly of printed sheet music from the eighteenth to the early twentieth century. These include much material from the mainsteam western classical music tradition, but also material relating to little known Irish composers. The names of the two collections are the Joly Music Collection and the Additional Music collection. In addition the Library has a small but significant collection of music manuscripts. The general printed collections include some Irish ballad, folk-music and popular song collections.
