Description
A collection of one large box of programmes from 1913 onwards. The programmes are from concerts which featured performances by the London Symphony Orchestra, where the London Symphony Orchestra is not the organising body. The programmes are from a number of venues in London and the provinces. The collection includes brochures or festival programmes from a number of festivals, including the following: Aldeburgh Festival, Swansea festival of Music and the Arts; Bath Festival; Three Choirs Festival; Cardiff Festival of Music; City of London Festival; John Player Musical Festival. There are also a number of programmes from various memorial concerts, anniversary concerts and "Royal Concerts". The majority of material is from the 1950s onwards. However, the pre-1952 programmes can be summarised as follows:
