Description A programme book from the Three Choirs Festival, 1978. The book is hardbound, and was published by Severn House Publishers. The festival took place in Worcester from the 26/08 to the 02/09. Concerts took place in the Guildhall, Cathedral, Swan Theatre, Hartlebury Castle, St. Nicholas Church, Old Palace, All Saints Church and Pershore Abbey. Though the main concerts of the festival consisted of large-scale choral items, the festival also included band concerts, recitals, religious services, chamber music concerts, workshops and lectures.

The concerts were given by a number of individuals and groups. The main choir was made up of singers from Worcester, Hereford and Gloucester; in addition, singers from the cathedral choirs of these towns also took part. Various instrumental groups were involved in the festival, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, BBC Northern Symphony Orchestra and Black Dyke Mills Band. Concerts were conducted by a variety of individuals, but the overall festival conductor was Donald Hunt.

The programmes contain analytical programmes notes and words to sung items, with English translations.
