Collection name Scottish Orchestra (1949-1950)

Description A collection of 26 programmes from the Scottish Orchestra, 1949 to 1950. The programmes are from two series – “Series A” and “Series B” – and represent the 1st to 13th concerts in each series. The concerts took place at the Usher Hall, on various Fridays from October to April. The concerts were organised by the Edinburgh Concert Society, and sometimes combined in performances with the Edinburgh Royal Choral Union. The concerts were usually conducted by Walter Susskind. The programmes contain analytical programme notes and musical examples.
