Description A collection of one scrapbook of material from the Sacred Harmonic Society, 1849 to 1851. The collection contains programmes and performance ephemera including press cuttings, articles from magazines, correspondence and reports. The collection includes 69 programmes, the majority of which are in English but include one programme written in French and one in German. The programmes relate to concerts given at Exeter Hall by the Sacred Harmonic Society, which were conducted by Costa. The programmes are from concerts of large-scale choral works – often oratorios – and include repertoire by, for example, Handel, Mendelssohn and Haydn.

Arrangement:
The collection is arranged chronologically, with all types of material relating to the same concert kept together.
