Collection name London Symphony Concerts (1887-1896)

Description A collection of five volumes of programmes given as part of a series of London Symphony Concerts from 1887 to 1896. The programmes are from orchestral concerts which were conduced by Henschel. The collection contains programmes from the 2nd, 4th and 6th – 10th seasons of concerts. The 6th and 7th seasons are not complete. The majority of programmes are from concerts that took place in St. James’s Hall; the exception is the 9th season (1894-1895) where concerts took place in Queen’s Hall. In addition, most volumes contain a handwritten list of concerts at the front of the volume: this often includes performer information.
