Description
Songs of Scotland Programmes: 1 volume (1882-86)
Scrapbook containing ca. 75 pages of programmes, newspaper cuttings and MS annotations relating to the ‘Songs of Scotland’ concert tours given by the Scots singer David Kennedy and his family, including Helen Kennedy (soprano), Marjory Kennedy (soprano), Margaret Kennedy (contralto), and Robert Kennedy (tenor). Part of the Papers and Correspondence of Marjory Kennedy-Fraser. The programmes are often generic, with venues not always specified, but there are annotations and newspaper cuttings that indicate that concerts were performed at venues around the UK (such as Music Hall, Edinburgh, Kinnaird Hall, Dundee, City Hall, Perth, and Music Hall, Aberdeen), Australia (Town Hall, Melbourne, Academy of Music, Ballarat), and New Zealand (Dunedin and Wellington).
