Description
Nelson Hall Concert Programmes: 4 boxes (1939-97)
Collection of programmes and handbills from concerts at the Nelson Halls in Dundee Street, McDonald Road, and St. Leonard's Street, Edinburgh, with ca. 100-250 in each box. Concerts vary between solo recitals, chamber music, school concerts, and bands. One of the boxes contains programmes (1955-65) specifically from Festival Concerts and Displays of Scottish Country Dancing, as well as from the series of Popular Concerts. Programmes contain usually just the basic information of performers' names and works to be performed; occasionally they also include brief performer biographies or song texts. The programmes in the most recent box have a large number of duplicates.
