October/November 1973: programme book for London Sinfonietta's Schoenberg/Gerhard series presenting the complete instrumental and chamber works of Schoenberg and Gerhard. The programme book includes chronologies and work lists of both composers (the latter by David Atherton), and a series of essays on aspects of each. For Gerhard, these are as follows: Chronology by David Drew; programme notes on the works in the series of concerts by Ates Orga; The War Years in Cambridge by Sydney Smith; England, Spring 1945 by Gerhard and Developments in Twelve-tone Technique also by Gerhard. A facsimile of the autograph ms of The Akond of Swat is included. A copy of the programme book is also available at MR455.b.95.1.
