Description
A collection of one box/ from the McCann collection, from 1920. The collection contains programmes from concerts given in the United Kingdom. The programmes were collected by the concert agent Norman McCann (1920-1999).

The contents of the collection are as follows:

London:
Queen's Hall – 10 programmes
The collection includes three programmes from the Henry Wood Promenade Concerts.

Royal Albert Hall – 15 programmes; 1 book of words
The collection includes six programmes and one book of words from the series "London Ballad Concerts".

Wigmore Hall - 9 programmes, plus press cuttings

Other London venues:
9 Wigmore Street; Westminster Cathedral Hall, Ambrosden Avenue; St. Bride's Institute, EC; Town Hall, Woolwich; Central Hall, Westminster; Southwark Cathedral (2); Aeolian Hall (5); Kingsway Hall.

In addition, there is a prospectus of three recitals given by Joan Elwes: these took place at 12 Grosvenor Place (Hyde Park Corner) and Grotrian Hall.

Provincial venues:
Public Hall, Ipswich; Town Hall, Kendal; Queen’s Hall, Wigan; St. Andrew’s Hall, Glasgow (2); Free Trade Hall; Freemasons Hall, George Street, Edinburgh (2); Usher Hall; M’Ewan Hall [most likely: McEwan Hall, Edinburgh]; Grand Hall, The Spa, Scarborough; Devonshire Park, Eastbourne (3); Town Hall, Hove; Winter Gardens, New Brighton (4); Rink Palace, Newport.

In addition, there are the following prospectuses, where concerts took place in various venues: Hastings Municipal Orchestra concerts, with concerts taking place in the Royal Concert Hall and the Cinema de Luxe; Winter Gardens and Pier Programme (Bournemouth), with concerts taking place in the Winter Gardens and Bournemouth Pier; Birmingham City Police Band, with concerts taking place in various parks in Birmingham.

There is a programme for a concert that took place in “Iver Place”, where the geographic location of the venue is unknown. In addition, there is one programme from a multi-venue tour.
