McCann Collection: United Kingdom (1920)
Description
A collection of one box/ from the McCann collection, from 1920. The collection contains programmes from concerts given in the United Kingdom. The programmes were collected by the concert agent Norman McCann (1920-1999).
The contents of the collection are as follows:
London:
Queen's Hall – 10 programmes
The collection includes three programmes from the Henry Wood Promenade Concerts.
Royal Albert Hall – 15 programmes; 1 book of words
The collection includes six programmes and one book of words from the series "London Ballad Concerts".
Wigmore Hall - 9 programmes, plus press cuttings
Other London venues:
9 Wigmore Street; Westminster Cathedral Hall, Ambrosden Avenue; St. Bride's Institute, EC; Town Hall, Woolwich; Central Hall, Westminster; Southwark Cathedral (2); Aeolian Hall (5); Kingsway Hall.
In addition, there is a prospectus of three recitals given by Joan Elwes: these took place at 12 Grosvenor Place (Hyde Park Corner) and Grotrian Hall.

There is a programme for a concert that took place in “Iver Place”, where the geographic location of the venue is unknown. In addition, there is one programme from a multi-venue tour.
