Description
One volume of programmes from the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, from 1965 to 1966. The programmes are from concerts and performances that took place at “The Pavilion”, which is part of the “Los Angeles Music Center”. The venue was opened in 1964, and was later called the “Dorothy Chandler Pavilion”.
The main part of the collection consists of publications entitled “Pavilion”. This contains details of the music being performed in each concert, as well as analytical programme notes, musical examples and biographies of performers. The first programmes are from opera performances given by the San Francisco Opera Company. Following this, there are programmes largely from orchestral concerts and given by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Some concerts include choral works, which feature performances by the Los Angeles Master Chorale. There is a small booklet listing works performed by the orchestra during the 1965 to 1966 season.
At the end of the volume, there are thirteen programmes from “Symphonies for Youth”, 1965 to 1966. These contain details of concerts given by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, chiefly on Saturdays.

The programmes are divided between programme types, and then arranged chronologically.
