Collection Summary

Collection Title
Historisches Concerts (1894-1909)
Unique Identifier
d.486
Description
A collection of programmes and wordbooks for Historical Concerts nos. 55–64, 75–96, 99–102 and 109–116, given by the Bohn’scher Gesangverein at various venues in Breslau between 1894 and 1909.

Each performance began with an opening ceremony [Einleitender Vortrag] and was predominantly vocal. The majority of the programmes provide a list of the vocal soloists, along with the names of the keyboard accompanists and any obligato instrumentalists. The historical orientation of the performances is reflected in the consistent provision of the dates for both composers and compositions.

The performances were given in 3 different venues as follows:
Königl. Universität: Musiksaal: nos. 55-64, 75-80 and 113-116
