Description
A collection of handbills, programmes and prospectuses for concerts given under the auspices of the British Information Centre since 1973.
The collection can be divided into 2 main sequences:
1. Salon series: 1973-2004, held at 10 Stratford Place (1973-2001) and at St. Ciprian's Church, Marylebone (2002-04).
2. The Cutting Edge: since 1999 at The Warehouse, 13 Theed Street.
The collection also includes some programmes for the Cutting Edge Tour.
The Salon series featured various performers in programmes of 20th-century British Music. The collection consists principally of single-sheet programmes/handbills (some with words and/or notes), although there are some term cards/prospectuses.
The Cutting Edge is devoted to the performance of British music since 1960 and concerts take place every Thursday evening from September to December. The collection includes prospectuses/advance publicity leaflets containing programmes for the series and season programme books, with words, notes, biographical notes and photographs.
The collection also includes material relating to the Cutting Edge Tour, covering performances in the Cutting Edge series given at a range of provincial venues in the United Kingdom.
