The Blackheath Halls Archive was acquired by the Jerwood Library following Trinity College of Music's acquisition of the Halls in 2003. The archives include papers of the original group which led to the foundation of the Blackheath Concert Hall Company Ltd (1894–1978), the Company's core records, minutes, financial records, share records, licences, legal agreements, membership and staff records, estate documents, plans and correspondence, and papers and correspondence of the Blackheath Concert Hall Action Group (1974-83), the Blackheath Preservation Trist (1975-) and the Blackheath Halls (1983-2003). The Jerwood Library supports Trinity's mission to prepare informed performers of the highest calibre. Its core business is to provide all the information resources and music materials that students need to attain the high standard required by their courses. It is also a research library with collections of international significance, the most important of these being the Mander & Mitchenson Theatre Collection. The establishment of the Jerwood Library, which opened in September 2001, was made possible through the generosity of the Jerwood Foundation [www.jerwood.org.uk]. The Jerwood Library has three divisions: the main Jerwood Library, the Mander & Mitchenson Theatre Collection and the Centre for Young Musicians Library.
