Description
The 6th of 13 boxes of handbills and programmes forming the collection of nutritionist and writer on music A. L. Bacharach (1891-1966), relating to performances given at various London venues between 1921 and 1922.

Also, a programme with words (including an introductory note, plot synopsis and list of the choral and orchestral ensembles) for The Two Sisters: An Opera by Cyril Rootham, given at the New Theatre, Cambridge between 14 and 18 February 1922.

All items are held loosely and are listed here by venue.

1. Queen's Hall
Both the Promenade and the Symphony Concerts were given by the Queen's Hall Orchestra, conducted by Henry Wood. Programmes for both series include words and notes by Rosa Newmarch and Eric Blom: those for the Symphony Concerts include musical examples and photographs of the principal performers.

27 October, 23 November and 12 December 1921: Orchestral Concerts, conducted by Eugene Goossens, including the first performances of Holbrooke, Fantasie, The Wild Sea-Fowl (23 November) and John Ireland, Symphonic Rhapsody (12 December). Also, the first English performances of Cyril Scott, Aubade and Manuel de Falla, Suite, El Amor Brujo (with Analytical notes, including a list of the orchestral ensemble).
21 March 1922: Song Recital by Elena Gerhardt, accompanied by Paula Hegner (with words).
18 and 25 May 1922: Orchestral Concerts nos. 1 and 2, by Serge Koussevitzki with the London Symphony Orchestra (with Analytical Notes by F. Gilbert Webb). The concert on 25 May featured Alfred Cortot (piano).
13 November 1922: Concert of Recent Works by Arnold Bax, given by Harriet Cohen (piano), John Cotes (vocal) and Lionel Tertis (viola), the Oriana Madrigal Society and the Goossens Orchestra (with words, Descriptive and biographical notes, and muscial examples). .
