Description
This collection contains five programmes for concerts given in the Concert Hall at the Royal Northern College of Music. The first is for a concert given by the RNCM Symphony Orchestra, conducted by David Jordan, on 2/7/1974. The second programme is for a concert given by the Melos Ensemble on 1/10/[1974]. The third programme is for a concert given by the Prague Chamber Orchestra, directed by Petr Skvor, on 9/10/[1974]. The fourth and fifth programmes are for BBC Radio Manchester Concerts. The first is for a concert given by students of the RNCM on 10/1/[1976] and the second is for a concert given by Manchester Camerata on 4/10/[1975].

Collections Overview
The Henry Watson Music Library is named after Dr. Henry Watson, a renowned composer and teacher born in nearby Accrington. After his death in 1911 he bequeathed the contents of his private library to the care of Manchester City Council. Watson's original collection (some 16,700 volumes) has been supplemented by many important donations and acquisition since and has grown into one of the largest collections of music in any public library.
