Description
Collection of 122 programmes relating to the Royal Irish Academy of Music from 24/2/60-22/11/85 by performers including The Academy Wind Ensemble, The Opera Class and Orchestra, RIAM Senior Orchestra and The Academy Chamber Orchestra. The concerts were held in the Hewson Room, RIAM; Dagg Hall, RIAM; St. Paul's Church, Adelaide Road, Glenageary; St. Francis Xavier's Hall; Metropolitan Hall. Concerts were mostly presented by the Students' Musical Union. Many programmes are accompanied by word-sheets.
The following are the RIAM series' from which many of the programmes originate: International Summer School of Music & Drama; Lunchtime Recitals; Dina Copeman Commemorative Concerts; Young American-Irish Artists Summer School; Feis Ceoil Prize Fund Recital; Royal Irish Academy of Music Summer School; the 'At Home' Series and the Restoration Fund concerts from 14/2/64-7/3/65.
Included in the collection are programmes from:

12/6/61: Concert in honour of Their Serene Highnesses Prince Rainier and Princess Grace of Monaco: The Academy Orchestra.

Collections Overview
The National Library of Ireland has two collections consisting mainly of printed sheet music from the eighteenth to the early twentieth century. These include much material from the mainsteam western classical music tradition, but also material relating to little known Irish composers. The names of the two collections are the Joly Music Collection and the Additional Music collection. In addition the Library has a small but significant collection of music manuscripts. The general printed collections include some Irish ballad, folk-music and popular song collections.
