Henry Wood Collection: Robert Newman Concerts (1901-1902)
Description
A collection of programmes organised and promoted by Robert Newman, 1901 to 1902. The majority of programmes in the collection have analytical programme notes and musical examples.
The programmes in the collection are from a variety of concert series and special concerts organised by Newman. The majority of concerts are from concerts given at the Queen’s Hall, with a number from concerts at the Royal Albert Hall and Crystal Palace. There is also a programme from the Dome, Brighton. The programmes are from recitals, choral concerts and orchestral concerts. Orchestral concerts were given by the Queen’s Hall Orchestra, conducted by Henry Wood.
