This database was initially the result of a three-year project (2004-07), funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and hosted by Cardiff University and the Royal College of Music.  It was designed as an online resource to help music lovers, students and researchers find programme collections, rather than providing full details of the content of individual programmes (although some of the collection descriptions do go some way to supplying such information).

The institutional coverage is extensive and includes the British Library, the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music in London, the Bodleian Library, Oxford and the national libraries of Scotland and Ireland, as well as repositories in Aldeburgh, Birmingham, Bradford, Cambridge, Cardiff, Cheltenham, Edinburgh, Leeds and Manchester. It is hoped that in due course collections from Europe may also be included in the database.

Management Committee: Chris Banks, Dr Paul Banks, Dr Katy Hamilton, Dr Rupert Ridgewell, Susi Woodhouse.
